In preparation of the World Expo 2010, Yangpu District, Shanghai, put up a showcase of the local service industries. It was held on March 5, 2009 at the square of Orient Shopping Center. Many top officials and local cadres from the various government bodies attended the event. The event was officially opened by Tang Haidong, the Vice Mayor of Yangpu District, Shanghai.
At the opening ceremony, the representative of the Industrial and Commercial Bureau Yangpu put forward a proposal to the service industry to improve their public image and customer satisfaction.
